LUCAS COUNTY, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Ottawa Hills police say the man who robbed a teen at gunpoint over the weekend was arrested Thursday.

According to police, a 13-year-old was walking a short bike path from the school to Hempstead Road, when she was approached by three men. The victim says one of them pulled out a gun, demanding her wallet and cell phone.

Unharmed, the teen ran to a neighbor's house to call 911.

With the help of Toledo police, the Ottawa Hills Police Department tracked down the cell phone to a carryout on Bancroft Street, where it was sold for $100. The store led police to the suspect, and his mother brought him to the police department Thursday morning.

"He did say he, in fact, was the person who brandished the gun. However, he said it was not a real gun, although the victim thought it was a real gun. He pointed the gun at her, and he admitted to taking the money and cell phone and selling it for approximately $100," explained Carl Reuther with the OHPD.

The Scott High School student was taken to the Lucas County Juvenile Detention Center, where he now waits to face the judge. He has been charged with aggravated robbery with a gun specification.
