GREENVILLE, AL (WSFA) -

The Greenville Police Department is investigating the city's first homicide of 2013.

Authorities says 24-year-old Ashley McDonald was fatally shot early Sunday morning on Cunningham Street when her boyfriend, Jamaal Taylor, 29, got into a fight outside a residence.

The fight is said to have been over a game of dominoes.

Investigators say Taylor pulled out a weapon, fired once into the air, and continued to fire as he fought with the other players. The stray bullets grazed one of the men involved in the fight and one struck McDonald in the chest.

Neighbors say they are shocked.

"Nothing like this happens down here," said Greg Jones, who lives around the corner. "You know in Greenville everybody knows everybody. From what I knew of her she seemed like a happy girl with a smile."

Taylor faces one charge of murder and two charges of attempted murder.

He is currently being held in the Butler County Jail.
