MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

Authorities with the Montgomery Public School System put several schools on a precautionary lockdown Thursday as police searched area businesses targeted by bomb threats.

The schools were Carver High School, Goodwyn Middle School, and Forest Avenue Elementary School. A fourth school, Peter Crump Elementary School was put on lockdown because officers were chasing a burglary suspect in close proximity to the facility.

MPS leaders said the lockdowns were a security measure and that there was not danger to students.

Officers with the Montgomery Police Department are searching for the suspect/s who called in a bomb threat to three CVS Pharmacy businesses. The businesses, located on Forest Ave., on the Atlanta Hwy., and on Rosa Parks Ave., were cleared and searched. No devices were found.
