Today, Jefferson County Commissioners David Carrington and Jimmie Stephens will head to New York. The purpose of the trip is to continue talks with Jefferson County creditors. The county commission voted Thursday to back out of its bankruptcy exit plan if creditors don't come up with $350-million in concessions by November 4th. Carrington and Stephens say they plan to stay in New York as long as the banks are willing to continue negotiating.
Investigators are still reviewing surveillance video from that terrifying mall massacre in Kenya. A woman in Alabama is paying close attention as investigators get closer to bringing justice in the case. Her loved one was among the murdered shoppers. She joins us in the studio with her families story of tragedy in the 7 a.m. hour of Good Day Alabama.
Investigators say an ex-deputy sheriff killed his wife and her male companion before taking his own life. The suspected murder-suicide happened early Sunday morning in the town of Fosters. It all started just after midnight when the suspect confronted the pair at the male victim's house. Investigators say that domestic dispute quickly escalated and a car chase began. The suspect, allegedly, ran his wife and her male companion off a 50 foot embankment at a ditch on Sylvan Loop Road. Homicide investigators say, once the suspect realized the victims had died in the crash, he took his own life by shooting himself in the head with a handgun.
Officials have released the name of a racing fan who died from carbon monoxide poisoning at Talladega Superspeedway over the weekend. Friends of Craig and Jami Morgan found the couple unresponsive in their motor home Saturday afternoon. The Talladega County sheriff says their RV had a broken exhaust pipe on the generator and they left it on all night. Craig was pronounced dead the scene. Jami is in critical condition at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

Microsoft has pulled a Windows update from its website after it caused problems on some customer devices. The company did not say why it pulled the "RT8.1" over the weekend. It apologized and promised to resolve the problem quickly. RT8.1 is an operating system for tablets and lightweight personal computers.
Mickey is watching the weather fronts coming through bringing cooler temperatures this week. Today is 75 degrees for the expected high with increasing clouds and temperatures dropping down to 49 tonight.
