SPRINGFIELD TWP, OH (FOX19) -

A 14-year-old boy shot and killed in South Fairmount will be laid to rest on Monday.

Dwayne Lamarr Lewis Jr. was found unresponsive in South Fairmount last Tuesday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dozens came to say goodbye to a teenager gunned down last week in South Fairmount.

"It's just crazy.  It just don't feel real.  We see him there, but it don't feel real," said Rayco Campbell, Lewis' cousin.

At only 14-years old, no one can understand why Lewis was murdered.

"I just don't understand why anybody would do this.  He was a nice person, and I don't see what he could have did that bad to make anybody do this to him," said Jenell Engleman, one of Lewis' classmates.

Car after car, dozens upon dozens came to pay their final respects to Lewis at St. Mark AME Zion Church in Springfield Township on Monday.  His family and friends say he was a young man with a bright future.

"He'd do boxing.  He liked football.  He was an energetic person.  He loved his mom.  He loved his grandma," Campbell told FOX19.

Lewis leaves behind three younger sisters.  Having just celebrated his 14th birthday, his family repeatedly described him as still being a baby himself.

"It's precious when you give birth to a baby, but to lose a baby, in a way that's not natural, is just wrong," Campbell added.

Struggling to hold back tears, some of Lewis' friends remembered him through clothing that had made with his name and pictures.  For his classmates from Carpe Diem-Aiken High School, it's not getting any easier to say goodbye.

"He was kind of my crush.  It's harder.  I just wish he wasn't laying there in that casket.  I wish he would just get up and come back," Engleman told FOX19.

On Saturday, Cincinnati Police arrested Julius White in connection with the fatal shooting. White was charged with aggravated murder and expected in court on Monday.
