Window washers dress as superheroes at Vandy Children's Hospital

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

They may scale great heights almost every day, but a group of local window washers took their superhero-like qualities to a whole new extreme Monday.

The window washers from Service Clean Inc. scaled the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt dressed as superheroes as a way to surprise the kids inside.

Organizers say the colorful costumes are meant to brighten the days ahead for patients, while they work to brighten the building.

The superhero window washers say the capes make it harder to do their work, but it's all worth it.

"They see Superman coming down, and their eyes get big and they start smiling and waving and taking pictures. It makes you feel good," said window washer Darrell Griggs.

The window washing crew says it's all in a superhero day's work.
