Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley announced Tuesday that he's approved two extra holidays for the state workers.

The day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve have been added to the employee holiday schedule for this year.

Bentley made the announcement in a video message posted on YouTube.

"These extra days will allow employees time to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with friends and family," Bentley said. "Our employees work hard all year and I'm grateful for what you do."
