4 arrested on drug and weapons charges in Phoenix

PHOENIX (AP) -

Authorities say a four people believed to be gang members have been arrested on drug and weapons charges in Phoenix.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Violent Criminal Apprehension Unit concluded a surveillance operation on suspected drug dealers Monday night.

Undercover detectives determined that numerous deals were taking place out of a Phoenix home and some of them were delivered by bicycle to neighboring users.

A search warrant was executed and deputies seized 270 grams of heroin, 1 1/2 pounds of methamphetamine, five handguns and $1,600 in cash plus weighing devices, a ledger and packaging material consistent with the drug trade.

Sheriff's officials say one of the suspects operating out of the residence was stopped by detectives departing the home. More heroin, methamphetamine and handguns were seized from the suspect's vehicle.
