High school coach back on the job after being accused of assaulting student

MURFREESBORO, TN (WSMV) -

A high school coach is back on the job, even as a criminal case against him moves forward.

The school district says Ronnie Bray has been reinstated as a teacher at Blackman High School after being suspended without pay from Oct. 4 to Oct. 18.

Bray is required to attend and complete the Employee Assistance Program, according to the school district.

He was arrested after a parent accused him of assaulting her daughter during gym class.

Bray is due in court for the criminal charges next month.

The school district says a school transfer has been approved for the student involved in the incident.
