OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) -

Police have released a list of the 10 most dangerous intersections in Overland Park.

Of those listed, West 95th Street and Antioch Road had a 150 percent increase of car crashes within the past year.

Overland Park police said road construction and detours are a big factor in the number of crashes.

Accidents at that intersection increased from 10 in 2012 to 25 this year.

Some other major trouble spots include Interstate 435 and Metcalf Avenue which jumped from 67 wrecks to 79.

Another was West 135th Street and U.S. 69 Highway which saw a slight increase from 44 to 49.

I-435 and Roe Avenue saw 38 crashes verses 32 last year.

But some intersections saw fewer accidents with I-435 dropping from 81 crashes to 53.

Most of the reported crashes at the intersections were minor rear-end collisions, police say.  Many of them happened at major interchanges with drivers not paying attention to the car in front of them.

Regardless of where your drive takes you, police remind drivers to keep their eyes on the road, maintain safe following distances and watch your speed.
