BONNER SPRINGS, KS (KCTV) -

The Kansas City metro has a new amusement park that's sure to get people's adrenaline pumping and it's the first one like it of its kind.

Sixty-five feet in the air is a long way down and once someone's up, there's only one way to get down at Adventure Zip KC - gliding through the treetops on a cable.

"If you just take a look around it's absolutely beautiful and, to tell you the truth, Kansas City needed something like this," said Brad McDonald, the owner of Adventure Zip KC.

During the adventure, guides strap each person up before zipping down.

"We've got the best of equipment," McDonald said.

With her heart pounding, KCTV5's Erika Tallan bravely stepped out to the edge and let gravity do the rest.

The zip line business owners said it takes 45 seconds to get from one tower to the next, but the experience is invigorating.

"I love to see the smile on people's faces when we're done," said Monica Reid, the general manager.

A day at Adventure Zip KC costs anywhere from $50 to $100, but its staff says the experience is priceless.

Adventure Zip KC officially opens this weekend.
