Man in custody after high-speed chase ends near I-470

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police took into custody a man who led police on a high-speed chase and bailed out of the vehicle on Interstate 470. The man is believed to have ran into nearby woods where he was apparently later caught.

An undercover detective tried to stop a man about 4:50 p.m. Thursday at Blue Ridge Boulevard and Prospect Avenue. The man did not stop, and a chase was initiated.

The chase has wound through south Kansas City including Raytown Road and 87th Street. The chase made its way to eastern Jackson County and included areas in Lee's Summit.

The man was driving a black Camero. He apparently drove down an embankment on I-470 between Pryor Road and View High Drive.

The man was in custody by 6 p.m.
