CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) -

The Monacan High School athletic trainer accused of having sex with a teen athlete is not in jail. Kristin Beck has been issued a court summons for a pre-trial hearing at Chesterfield Juvenile and Domestic courthouse.

The 30-year-old is facing a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. It is a misdemeanor.

Officers are hesitant to go into specifics, but say it did not happen at school. They will only say the two had sex at a home. They also say they've heard of only one teen involved, but are looking to see if there are other alleged victims.

Monacan is supposed to have a football game on Friday, but a member of the athletic crew will not be there. Beck was a trainer who is now facing the accusation that she had a sexual relationship with one of her athletes. Her arrest warrant shows, the male victim is over 15-years-old and the relationship was consensual.

Police say a student told administrators about the sexual relationship on Thursday, Beck was arrested that day.

Nobody is answering the door at her north Chesterfield home, but a neighbor says he had just talked to beck and her husband a few days ago.

"They've been great, great neighbors so definitely shocked by the accusations," he said.

Chesterfield schools spokesperson Shawn Smith say beck was an independent contractor and employed through Chippenham and Johnston Willis Hospitals, Inc.

According to the school spokesperson the contract with Chippenham and Johnston Willis Hospitals, which is part of HCA Virginia, says the school will receive medical support services. It also requires the medical facility do a background check on all of its employees working at the schools. That background check includes looking for felony convictions or any offense involving sexual molestation, physical or sexual abuse or rape of a child.

HCA Virginia released this statement saying, "We were disappointed to learn about the serious allegations against this former employee. We conduct background checks on employees as part of our hiring processes, and we do not tolerate behavior that could compromise the well-being of the people entrusted to our care. "

Beck's next court date is Wednesday.
