Springboro woman sentenced in child rape case

A Springboro woman convicted of sexually abusing a child and recording the act was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Tanai Fortman, 32, pleaded guilty to charges of rape and pandering sexually oriented matter involved a minor after her boyfriend found child pornography on her cell phone and tablet. He then reported the videos to Springboro Police.

She was arrested on June 15 and told investigators she worked for an online sexting company and got a message to send more videos of her and the child. 

She also claimed she didn't remember the videos because she was unconscious from taking too many supplements for weight loss while they were being made. Fortman said she was sick to her stomach when she saw the videos and would never hurt the victim.

Prosecutors said the abuse happened at her Springboro home in June. The victim was under the age of 10.

Fortman was sentenced to 15 years in prison on Friday by Warren County Common Pleas Judge James Flannery.
