High school students arrested for "terroristic threats" on social media

BUTLER COUNTY, OH (FOX19) -

Butler County Sheriffs have arrested two high school students for posting "terrorist threats" on a social media network.

Officers say that two New Miami High School females, ages 14 and 15, posted information on social media describing a dislike for the school and the people there. Authorities say that the posts referenced a shooting spree.

Police say that a teacher had alerted school administrators of the possible threat and the Sheriff's Office was called to investigate.

Investigators talked to the girls and a search was conducted at the school. Authorities say that no weapons were found and the girls were taken into custody.

The girls are being charged as juveniles with delinquency by reason of inducing panic and delinquency by reason of making terrorist threats.
