DANBURY, CT (WFSB) -

A couple in Danbury has been arrested after being accused of using an electric dog collar to discipline a child.

Police said they arrested Eduardo Montanez and Paula Montanez, 34, after a joint investigation with the Department of Children and Families.

Eduardo Montanez was charged with assault, cruelty to a persons and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. He was being held on $250,000 bond.

Paula Montanez was charged with two counts of risk of injury to a minor, conspiracy to commit assault and conspiracy to commit cruelty to persons. She was held on $200,000 bond.

They're both due in court on Wednesday.
