BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

You don't have to go to New York or Atlanta to score a counterfeit designer bag. We have them in Alabama.

Don't know anyone shopping for Coach or Louis Vuittons or Kate Spades out of car trunks? Here's a heads up: there are other ways to do it including purse parties, gift shops and social media.

The bargain purse activity picks up around the holidays because people look for ways to give designer bags without breaking the bank. But those fake bags you're buying online or at a party isn't a "victim-less" crime.

So why would law enforcement spend precious resources policing luxury handbags in an era when terrorism and illegal narcotics pose a clear and present danger in America? Because authorities say those fake handbags and other counterfeit items are practically an ATM machine for organized crime.

Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 10 p.m., you'll hear from ICE agents as they raid and seize counterfeits in Alabama.

Plus - it's your second change to own a Valentino bag. All you have to do is watch Fox6 News at 10 p.m. and call the number on the screen when promoted.
