MONTGOMERY CO., AL (WSFA) -

Authorities are investigating a rash of burglaries and they need your help to stop the thieves.

Authorities say the suspects are impersonating sales people and at the same time, canvassing homes. Multiple homes have been hit in the last month.

Montgomery County sheriff's deputies have doubled the number of patrols in the areas of Ramer, Grady and Dublin.

Montgomery County authorities have arrested four people in the case and are searching for two other suspects. They have been identified as Stephen Hornsby and Anthony Curtis.

Authorities say the burglars are befriending people by posing as salesmen.

At a meeting to celebrate the Dublin Senior Center's sixth year in existence Friday, the discussion quickly turned to crime.

One woman has been a burglary victim four times. She's had a vehicle stolen and the most recent burglary was just a few weeks ago.

"They got my husband's eight guns, two pistols, ammunition, silver, my nice television set," Gloria Smith said.

Another woman was approached by a burglar asking for a favor.

"Went to my house, the young man walks up to me and asked me, says my car's running hot, can I get some water?" Gloria Roberson said. "Sure, you got a jug? 'No ma'am.'  I said, ok I'll get you a jug. Give him water and the next 10 seconds, 'get on the ground, get on the ground'."

Deputies arrested the man on the spot.
