MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

It's 11/12/13 and one Montgomery man was able to celebrate the date not once but twice in his lifetime.

Carlie Tatum celebrated his 100th birthday Tuesday at John Knox Retirement Tower.

"I feel just like I did yesterday when I was only 99," Tatum said.

He gives credit to one thing for keeping him going for so long.

"Well now I'm going to have to let the good lord take care of that because I think that's the one whose to done it. And I'm here for a purpose. When they get ready for me, they'll call me, I think. Nobody else will," Tatum said.

Tatum says his mother lived to be 103 so he must take after her.
