Suspect charged after Dothan woman robbed at gunpoint in home

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - The Dothan Police Department says it has arrested a suspect in connection to a home invasion in which a woman was held at gunpoint and robbed inside her own home. The incident happened on Whiddon Street Tuesday.

Authorities say Jaquez Corbitt, 19, of Dothan, was arrested and charged with first degree burglary in regards to the case.

Investigators say Corbitt entered the 32-year-old woman's home, pointed a hand gun at her and demanded she give him money. The victim did as the suspect asked. When the suspect got what he wanted, he fled the scene.

complied and Corbitt fled the home with an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. Officers and investigators were quickly on the scene and by using information gathered, Corbitt was identified as the subject responsible for the crime.

Corbitt is being held on a bond of $200,000.
