Armed robber on the loose in south Nashville

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Police say a suspect who used a knife to carjack two women on Harding Pike is still on the loose.

The women say the carjacker came up to them while they were at a gas station and forced them out of the car early Thursday morning.

Police noticed the car after it was reported stolen and started following the driver, but the suspect sped away and later crashed the vehicle.

The suspect got away before police were able to catch up.

The search is ongoing near Linbar Drive, where the vehicle was crashed.

The women are not said to have been injured in the incident.
