TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

A former security guard at a high school in the Vail School District was arrested because authorities say he kissed a female student multiple times while at the school.

According to the Pima County Sheriff's Department, 71-year-old Eric Oswald was cited and released Nov. 8 for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

John Carruth, assistant superintendent of Vail School District, said Oswald, a former educator, had worked at Cienega High School for seven years. His employment was terminated and his last day on campus was Oct. 25, Carruth said.

According to the Sheriff's Department, the victim is a 15-year-old girl, who is a student.

Detectives say the two began developing a friendship when the girl was 14, and that is the first time the two kissed.

The school's principal heard rumors and the girl confessed, but the security guard still denies anything happened, according to detectives.

The Sheriff's Department says issuing the citation to Oswald was all it could do in this case.

Detectives say other than the kissing, the security guard only touched the girl on her back.
