SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

The man arrested for the murder of Chicopee resident, Amanda Plasse, was back in court Monday morning.

Dennis Rosa-Roman appeared in Springfield District Court on a pre-trial hearing.

Rosa-Roman was handcuffed and shackled as he was led into the courtroom.

The 22-year-old is accused of allegedly stabbing Plasse, 20, of Chicopee in her School Street home in August of 2011.

Plasse's family fought back tears in court as Rosa-Roman stood with his head hung low.

Hampden County District Attorney Mark Mastroianni asked Judge Patricia Poehler to set a bind-over hearing date to decide whether or not Rosa-Roman's trial will be held in Superior Court. That date will be Jan. 6.

Rosa-Roman was arrested on Nov. 5 for Plasse's murder. He pleaded not guilty that day during in his arraignment in Chicopee District Court.

But on Monday, he quietly left the Springfield courtroom as he was brought back to his jail cell.

The court documents that detail how police zeroed in on Rosa-Roman as their suspect have been sealed by Mastroianni's office.

A lawyer CBS 3's media partner The Republican, asked Poehler to end the impoundment on those documents so they can be released to the public.

Poehler said she will rule on that decision on Nov. 25.
