TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

The race may start tomorrow at 7 a.m. but crews are preparing the start-finish tower at 6th Ave., just south of Broadway.

While some preps are beginning today, law enforcement are continuing the preps tomorrow as they block off streets, for the riders' safety and will be doing so at various times.

There are some differences for riders this year, as opposed to rides in the past – the 2013 route is four miles shorter and cyclists will be using the frontage road from Avra Valley Rd. to 22nd St. and not Silverbell.  The last time El Tour used the frontage road was in 2010, the route was moved due to freeway construction.

For those who are planning on attending the U of A football game tomorrow and want to tailgate, they may want to leave a little bit earlier than normal to get to the campus for the game; this is due to some riders still peddling toward the finish line.
