SAVANNAH, GA (WTOC) -

The city is offering some downtown parking incentives to holiday shoppers.

Starting on Thanksgiving Day, metered parking will not be enforced through Friday. Three hours of free parking will be available on Thursday and Friday though Dec. 27.

Smart cards can be purchased in denominations of $25, $50, $75 or $100 at half off their face value until the end of the year. They can be used at any pay and display or pay by space parking meter.

The rates are not applicable when garages are charging special event rates, according to a city news release.

To buy smart cards, go to the Mobility and Parking Services Office at 100 E.  Bryan St. on the ground level of the Bryan Street Parking Garage or call 912.651.6470. For more details, go to http://savannahga.gov/parking.
