TEMPE, AZ (CBS5) -

The American Red Cross is asking the community to send some Christmas spirit to the military men and women overseas during the holidays.

Through the "Holiday Mail for Heroes" program, active-duty service members and military families around the world receive holiday greetings for Americans thanking them for their sacrifices.

The community is invited to stop by the University of Phoenix main campus located at 1625 W. Fountainhead Pkwy. in Tempe and sign or drop off a card that will be sent to active-duty service members and military families stationed overseas this holiday season.

The event runs from Nov. 27 through Dec. 2, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
