BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

We can now put a name and face with the victim of a Saturday night shooting in Hoover at an Iron Bowl watch party. Friends have identified her as Michelle Shepherd, a mother of three children ages 10, 8 and 5.

Hoover Police say Shepherd and another woman got into an argument after the game. They say that argument moved to the parking lot of Summerchase Apartments, and that's when Shepherd was shot and killed around 7 p.m.

Hoover police say Shepherd was in her 30's and the suspect was a woman in her 20's. The two did not know each other prior to the watch party.

A small caliber handgun was used in the shooting, according to a statement from Capt. Jim Coker. Witnesses say Shepherd was shot three times.

Friends say Shepherd was a neutral fan when it came to the Iron Bowl, but was an avid fan of the Miami Heat basketball team.

The suspect is in police custody. Charges are expected sometime Monday.
