PHOENIX (CBS5/AP) -

Opening statements are set to start Wednesday in the third trial for Jonathan Doody, and the prosecution and the defense hope to have jury selection wrapped up Tuesday.

Doody is accused of killing nine people at a Valley Buddhist temple in 1991.

His 1993 conviction was overturned on an appeal and his retrial ended with a mistrial after jurors failed to reach a verdict.

A judge in November denied a request by attorneys to ban all journalists from the courtroom.
