WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The UNCW Board of Trustees approved of a 2014-2015 Tuition and Fees plan Monday afternoon.

A lot of conversation by the board concerned a tuition hike for out-of-state students that will now be in place next year.

Out-of-state students currently pay $16,162.72 for tuition.  Next year they will pay $18,150.72, a 12.3 percent increase.

Additionally, all students will pay $116 more for athletic fees next year, a 21.6 percent increase from the current $538.55 fee.

However, they will see a reduction in debt service fees.  Students currently pay $448.40.  Next year, they will pay $381.00, a 15 percent decrease.
