MARSHALL COUNTY, AL (WAFF) -

Two charges against a man involved in a fatal Guntersville wreck have been dropped.

Misdemeanor charges of giving false information and obstructing justice were dropped Wednesday against 20-year-old Adrian Michael Renteria.

Renteria still faces four felony charges over the wreck that killed four teenagers this summer.

Prosecutors call it a strategic move to keep witnesses from testifying before the felony trial.

Renteria remains jailed on a $1 million bond. He also faces criminal trespassing charges stemming from repeatedly going to one of the victims' houses when asked not to. The trial in that case is slated for Dec. 18.
