TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, AL (WBRC) -

State troopers say Highway 82 East will reopen soon after an overturned log truck shut down a short stretch of the roadway Thursday morning.

Authorities closed Highway 82 at Monticello Drive in Duncanville after a vehicle wrecked with a log truck, which then overturned.

According to troopers on the scene, the log truck hit a vehicle that was in the process of turning left around 7:45 a.m. The wreck is near Maxwell Elementary School.

Troopers say there were injuries, but the extent of the injuries is unknown. A Hazmat crew responded due to concerns about leaking fuel, but they have since left the scene.

Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue, the Tuscaloosa Police Department, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office and State Troopers all responded to the wreck.

Traffic should detour onto Monticello Drive to Bear Creek, then turn left and continue onto Highway 82 Eastbound.
