MANHATTAN, KS (RNN) - Just like the go-ahead 3-point shot of guard Marshall Henderson in the final seconds, the Ole Miss Rebels fell short and lost to the Kansas State Wildcats 61-58 on Thursday.

The loss is Ole Miss's (6-1) first of the season and a part of a competitive Big 12/SEC Challenge featured on ESPN.

Kansas State (5-3) held control of the Rebels and never led by more than five points in the game. But Ole Miss tied the game in the middle of the second half and with less than five minutes left. K-State's Marcus Foster didn't let that hold - a key free throw and a clutch 3-pointer gave the Wildcats the lead and win.

The Rebels' leading scorer was guard Jarvis Summers with 18 points. Henderson, still not in the starting lineup, scored 13 points off the bench.

Marshall's missed 3-pointer reflected the Rebels' poor shooting from downtown - they were three-for-18 in their 3-points attempts.

Ole Miss's next game will be in Oxford against the No. 13-ranked Oregon Ducks on Sunday, Dec. 8.
