As we progress throughout the rest of afternoon/evening hours, the precip will end. Still some freezing rain/sleet and just a cold rain is possible over the northern, eastern and southern sections of East Texas through mainly the afternoon hours. Overnight tonight

Overnight tonight, temperatures are expected to fall WELL below the majority cross the majority of ETX...so...if there are any puddles or wet spots on the roads, especially over the northern half of ETX, they will freeze. Bridges and Overpasses will likely freeze first and stay that way through most of the weekend. PLEASE SLOW DOWN AND BE CAREFUL. Black ice is very dangerous. If we can get this wind to dry the roads this afternoon/evening, we could dodge this bullet, but if it doesn't happen, there will be problems.

Overnight skies will be mostly cloudy. Temperatures will be getting very cold once again with that brisk northerly wind. We'll be mainly in the lower 20s in our northern counties, middle to upper 20s in our central counties, and lower to middle 30s in Deep East Texas.

The chance for some more wintry mix returns to the forecast during the second half of the day Saturday and lingers into the first part of Sunday.
