ARAB, AL (WAFF) -

The funeral of country music singer Wayne Mills was held on Dec. 8.

The large event was held at Arab High School. Visitation started at 9 a.m., and the service, which you can watch in full here, started at 1:30 p.m.

The Wayne Mills Band has performed throughout the Southern circuit. Jamey Johnson, Blake Shelton and Taylor Hicks have all opened for the band.

Many high profile celebrities and political officials were expected to attend the funeral.

His friend, Gary "Sarge" Sargent described Mills as "a true gift of love of all who knew him. "As you can see as you look around her today, here at the high school auditorium, Wayne had a profound impact on everybody that he met," he said.

"I always thought I was sharing Wayne with all of you," Mills' wife Carol wrote in the funeral program. "However, through this senseless tragedy I have learned that Wayne's last gift to me and Jack was not a song but sharing all of you with us."

Mills was shot in the head outside the Pit and Barrel Bar in Nashville around 5 a.m. on Nov. 23. According to police, Mills and the bar's owner, Chris Ferrell, had gotten into an argument over Mills smoking in the bar. Ferrell claimed the shooting was in self-defense.

Nashville police arrested Ferrell on Friday after a grand jury indictment. He's charged with second degree murder.
