Police: Man shot, killed after arguing with roommate over TV

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WBRC) -

Birmingham police have charged a man with killing his roommate after an argument over a television turned deadly.

Donald Stallworth, 56, was killed in a shooting on Pearson Avenue Southwest around around 1:35 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.

Police say just moments before the shooting, Stallworth got into an argument with his roommate over the TV. Stallworth was shot and later died at UAB Hospital.

Police say the suspect surrendered to West Precinct officers and is being held in the Birmingham City Jail. He was identified late Monday afternoon as Quinton Jackson, a 47-year-old man from Birmingham.

Jackson has been charged with murder on a $75,000 bond. He is in the process of being transferred to the Jefferson County Jail.
