Cincinnati Public School teacher Kellie Hawkins is arraigned for trying to shoot her husband in an argument, according to court paperwork.

The incident happened on Saturday, December 7 at their home in Green Twp. just north of Cheviot.

Hawkins' husband Sunny Hyde called the police after Hawkins threatened him with a gun during an argument over her books in the basement. 

Officers say Hyde and Hawkins we're continuing their argument in the living room when Hawkins fired one round which struck the wall next to where her husband was standing.

Hawkins admitted to holding the gun when it was discharged. 

Hawkins is a workplace minister. She was employed as a full-time high school math teacher for Cincinnati Public Schools.

Hawkins is now facing felonious assault charges.
