DECATUR, AL (WAFF) -

FBI bureaus in Charlotte and Birmingham in conjunction with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of a man in connection with the kidnapping of a 15-year-old girl.

The girl was reported missing from her home in Troy, North Carolina on Saturday.

She was located in Decatur on Tuesday with Jose Louis Resendiz.

Resendiz faces charges including abduction of a child and second-degree kidnapping. He is being held in the Decatur City Jail, pending extradition to North Carolina.

The girl is in protective custody until she can be reunited with her family.
