SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A Springfield man and his roommates are out of cash after a thief posing as a delivery man ripped them off at their South Shore Drive home.

The victim, who didn't want his name to be public, told CBS 3 a person dressed as a delivery driver showed up at his door and asked to come inside.

The man said he had a package to deliver and he wanted $139 in a delivery fee. The suspect asked to use the man's bathroom and on his way out grabbed a pocketbook full of cash.

The suspect had a red jacket on that said "Delivery Express" on it.

Police say residents should never let delivery drivers into their homes.
