CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

MLB.com is reporting that the Reds and Yankees have talked about a trade involving Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips.

The story quoted a source saying that the Yankees are one of the teams listed in Phillips' limited no-trade clause and the Reds would need his approval before trading him to the Yankees.

ESPN.com reported that the Yankees rejected the Reds' offer to trade Phillips for outfielder Brett Gardner. The story said a source told ESPNNewYork.com's Andrew Marchand that the Yankees don't like Phillips' declining numbers and salary.

Reds general manager Walt Jocketty has said the Reds aren't actively shopping Phillips but they would listen to an offer.

Phillips won his fourth Gold Glove this year.
