From the Kilgore Police Department:

On Thursday, Kilgore Police Department Traffic Officer Carolyn Wink stopped a vehicle containing three occupants due to a traffic violation. Upon initial investigation, Officer Wink discovered the three to be in possession of stolen and forged checks.

The checks were determined to have come from seven different banks and three different victims. One of the stolen checks was taken from a home mailbox in Smith County. All three were arrested and booked into the Kilgore Municipal Jail.

They were identified and charged with the following offenses. Eric L. Johnson, 24, of Kilgore was charged with Forgery, Stealing/Receiving Stolen Checks, Failure to ID and a Rusk County Warrant for Felony Theft. Patty Jean Cox, 37, of Kilgore was charged with Forgery and Stealing/Receiving Stolen Checks. Jenna Lee Taylor, 27, of Kilgore was arrested for Forgery, Stealing/Receiving Stolen Checks, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Dangerous Drugs.
