DECATUR, GA (CBS46) -

A small gathering of people honored the victims of Sandy Hook during an interfaith candlelight vigil at First Baptist Church of Decatur on Saturday.

They prayed for families and survivors and sang songs of hope and encouragement.

Carolyn Johnson, who attended the vigil said, "My faith tells me that non-violence and love are the response, and so when I am remembering children who have died at the hand of violence I want to come out and let it be known that there is another way to live in this world."

Faith leaders from the Christian, Islamic and Jewish faiths participated in the event.
