HOMEWOOD, AL (WBRC) -

Officials have released the identity of a shoplifting suspect killed in a crash in Homewood while trying to escape from police.

The Jefferson County Coroner's Office identifies the woman as Bristina Fuller. An age for Fuller was not given.

Homewood police responded to a shoplifting call at the Babies 'R' Us near Lakeshore Drive just before 8 p.m. Saturday night. Two female suspects drove off in a Ford Expedition with police in pursuit.

The chased ended when the suspects crashed the SUV into a utility pole at the corner of West Oxmoor Road and Lakeshore Drive. Fuller was killed in the wreck. The other suspect was transported to a local hospital. There is no word on her condition.
