The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop Monday on IH-40, yielding 50 pounds of marijuana valued at over $221,000.

At approximately 9:52 a.m., a DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2012 Ford F-350 pickup traveling eastbound on IH-40, for a traffic violation, near Conway in Carson County.

The driver of the pickup was identified as Suzanne Joan Mayner, 57, of Fort Bragg, Calif. During the traffic stop, the trooper discovered seven bundles of marijuana in the vehicle.

Mayner was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance, a second-degree felony, and booked into the Carson County Jail. The illegal drugs were allegedly being transported from Fort Bragg, Calif., to Charleston, S.C.
