MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA (WTVM) -

Some special teachers in Muscogee County got an early Christmas gift this year.

They have been selected to attend Harvard University's graduate school of education this summer.

The Muscogee Education Excellence Foundation announced its selection for the honor on Monday.

The winners are Ronda Allen of Arnold Magnet, Christy Grigsby of Early College Academy, Clayton Graham of Jordan High, and both Scott Chandler and Benjamin Foust of Saint Elmo Center for the Gifted.

"The opportunity to meet teachers from around the world, and have interaction with them, to be on the Harvard Campus is a real treat I think for our teachers here in Columbus," said M.E.E.F. project chair Judy Phomas.

The teachers were selected from a pool of top 10 Teacher of the Year honorees from the past 10 years.

Each teacher will attend "Project Zero Classroom" to enhance their skills to recognize and develop students' strengths.
