CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

White Castle will donate nearly $33,000 to Toys for Tots this holiday season to provide new, unwrapped toys for children in need.

Toys for Tots is an annual program organized by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Department of Defense brightening the holidays for less fortunate children through the gift of a new toy or book.

On Tuesday, Greater Cincinnati White Castle will present a $32,926 check to Toys for Tots coordinator, Sgt. James C. Key II, and other marines at its regional office.

The donation was made possible through White Castle customers and the restaurant chain.

Since 2006, the 43 locations throughout Greater Cincinnati have raised more than $300,000 for Toys for Tots. Prior to 2006, regional White Castles served as toy-drop off locations.

Toys for Tots is now in its 66th year. Read additional information here: www.toysfortots.org
