TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A semi professional football team is holding a fundraiser to benefit a Moultrie boy battling a rare form of brain cancer.  The Georgia Firebirds will host a "Built for Battle" benefit bowl game this weekend.

A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorships will help to pay for four- year-old Jacob Martin's medical expenses. Martin is battling a rare form of brain cancer. The owner says this game is a form of giving back to the community.

"This is what we do as part of our community outreach program. Once I learned about Jacob's situation and his parents, his mother is a teacher at the Colquitt County School System. I decided to get involved and I wanted to make an effort to support him and his family," said Darrien Teals.

The team hopes to raise $1500. The game is Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Mack Tharpe Stadium in Moultrie. Admission is $10. Kids ages 10 and under are free. To get tickets you can call 229-256-8041 or 229-921-1381. For more information click here.
