GUNTERSVILLE, AL (WAFF) -

Three Albertville residents were arrested after Marshall County Sheriff's deputies found them with thousands of dollars worth of items suspected stolen from at least six businesses.

Laurissa Marie Abernathy, 34, Diane Marie Rosales, 42, and Perry Anthony Childress, 45, all of Albertville, were arrested and taken to the county jail, where they are held with no bond. Sheriff Scott Walls said they are all charged with shoplifting. More charges are likely.

Deputies responded to a call about someone attempting to sell merchandise from a vehicle in the Warrenton area of Guntersville. The suspect vehicle was spotted on Alabama Highway 69 behind Discount Building Supply. Items in the trunk of the car, valued at more than $2,500, included name brand clothing, tools, pictures, ornaments, hats, electronics, and auto cleaning supplies that police believe came from at least six businesses in Marshall County.

Sheriff Walls asked that all business owners in the county be aware that shoplifters may operate in groups.

"This very group stole just under one thousand dollars in clothing from one store," Walls said. "These types of crimes not only cost the business owners, but over time, it costs the consumers."
