Two dead after murder-suicide at Memphis apartment

(WMC-TV) - Two people died after a shooting at Chickasaw Place apartments on Mimosa Avenue. A third person was taken to The MED in extremely critical condition.

When police learned of the shooting, it was reported that two women had been shot. Since then, the suspect also was shot.

The shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot.

One of three shooting victims was on a balcony when an Action News 5 crew arrived at the apartments. 

Officers still had weapons drawn. The suspected shooter threatened to have a shootout with them.

Action News 5 is awaiting new information from police regarding the identifies of the victims and whether there was a history of violence in this household.
