TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

According to Pima County Sheriff's Deputies, an intersection on Tucson's east side has reopened after an officer-involved shooting investigation.

East Tanque Verde Road was closed at North Houghton Road for several hours Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Personnel from the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Forest Service responded to the scene.

According to PCSO, a Forest Service was involved in a vehicle pursuit while patrolling the Redington Pass area.

That chase ended at East Tanque Verde Road and North Houghton Road. Shots were fired, according to PCSO.

The suspect reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
