ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A woman was taken into custody Thursday after police said she left her child in the car while she went shopping in Atlanta.

The 11-month-old child was found in a white BMW in the Edgewood Shopping Center on Caroline Street.

Megan Nieves, 28, was arrested and charged with reckless conduct.

According to police, the child was left alone in the vehicle for about 30 minutes.

The child was given to the father.

On Friday, Nieves posted bond and was released from DeKalb County Jail. The charge was a misdemeanor with pre-set bond.
